Indication of set gain value

If the SELECT dial is pressed while the set gain value is displayed, the setting is returned to the factory setting (0 dB).

In the auto gain adjustment mode, the GAIN button remains inoperative.

1. Press the GAIN button.

The currently set gain value is shown for about 3 seconds on the LCD screen and the viewfinder screen.

The gain value can be set while the gain value is displayed.

2.Rotate the SELECT dial within 3 seconds (while the gain value is displayed) to set the gain. Rotating the dial upward or downward increases or decreases the gain value in steps of 1 dB.

3.Stop rotating the SELECT dial when the desired gain value is indicated. The set value is displayed for about 3 seconds before the setting is confirmed.

[Setting range: –3 dB to 0 dB to +18 dB]

The set gain value is retained in the memory even if the power is turned OFF.

To return to the auto gain adjustment mode, use either of the following methods.

Set the AE item to AUTO on the OPERATION menu screen

Set the MODE item to AUTO on the TOP MENU screen. In this case the shooting mode becomes the auto mode.
