About Hybrid

Navigation
In the sections Playback with HDD Navigation (pg. 24)
and Playback with VCR Navigation (pg. 36), it is briefly
described how to search for the beginning of each recorded
programme using the Navigation functions. More detailed
explanations are provided in this section using HDD Navigation
by way of example.
This recorder has a built-in Hybrid Navigation system, which
consists of two Navigation systems (HDD Navigation and VCR
Navigation). Using Navigation system, you can easily modify
registered information or edit the programme when dubbing
from the HDD deck to VHS deck, as well as search for the
beginning of each programme.
About registration of information
The following information is automatically registered for each
programme when ordinary recording or timer recording is
performed, then stored in an area specified on the hard disk. For
the VHS deck, set NAVIGATION to ON (pg. 81).

The items marked with an asterisk (*) can be easily modified and
registered again after recording by using Navigation system.

Navigation system has six functions for editing of programmes.

The limitations of registration
You can register information up to 100 programmes in HDD
Navigation. In VCR Navigation, you can register information up
to 2000 programmes or up to 680 cassettes.
To register the information for VCR Navigation, you need to
record a programme for more than 5 minutes in SP mode (for
more than 15 minutes in LP mode.
When the amount of information is at the limits of registration,
you cannot record new programme any more. In this case, you
need to delete old programmes to register new one (pg. 58).
