Make sure the window side is up, the rear label side is

 

facing you and the arrow on the front of the cassette is

 

pointing towards the VCR. Don’t apply too much

 

 

pressure when inserting.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The VCR’s power comes on automatically.

 

 

The counter is automatically reset to "0:00:00".

 

 

If the cassette's record safety tab has been removed

 

 

and the Record Safety mode is set to "ON", playback

 

 

begins automatically.

 

 

 

 

 

FIND PROGRAM START

POINT

 

If the tape is advanced past the start point, press REW or

 

turn the SHUTTLE ring to the left. To go forward, press

 

FF or turn the SHUTTLE ring to the right.

START PLAYBACK

 

 

Press PLAY. "VIDEO CALIBRATION" appears on the

 

screen (when VIDEO CALIBRATION is set to "ON"

 

pg. 36).

STOP PLAYBACK

 

 

Press STOP or STOP/EJECT. Then press STOP/EJECT

 

to remove the cassette.

 

 

 

 

To prohibit other operations during playback (Mode Lock)

Press and hold OK on the remote control for more than 5 seconds. The Mode Lock indicator lights up on the front display panel ( pg. 66). The playback will not be interrupted until the recording end (unrecorded portion) or tape end is reached ( pg. 28). Only PLAY will function while Mode Lock is activated ( "Repeat Playback", pg. 29).

To resume the other operations, press and hold OK on the remote control again for more than 5 seconds.

*Compact VHS camcorder recordings can be played on this video recorder. Simply place the recorded cassette into a VHS Cassette Adapter and it can be used just like any full-sized VHS cassette.

**This VCR can record on regular VHS and Super VHS cassettes. While only VHS signals can be recorded on regular VHS cassettes, both VHS and Super VHS signals can be recorded and played back using Super VHS cassettes.
