To turn power to the unit on
Press the STANDBY/ON button on the front panel or remote control.

•The currently selected CD function is shown in the information display.
To put the unit in standby mode during operation
Press the STANDBY/ON button on the front panel or remote control.

•The unit can be put into the standby mode by pressing the
STANDBY/ON button.
If the STANDBY/ON button is pressed during a recording operation, the standby lamp flashes while the unit brings the opera- tion to an end. Once the operation has stopped, the unit enters the standby mode and the standby lamp lights steady. From the time the button is pressed until the standby lamp lights steady, the unit will not respond to any button pressed on the front panel of the main unit or remote control.
Turning the power on by pressing a function button when the unit is in the standby mode
The unit can be turned on and a function selected simply by press- ing one of the buttons shown in the figure below

•When the PLAY 3 button for either the CD control or CDR control is pressed on the main unit, the power is turned on. If a disc is loaded in the tray, playback begins.
•When one of the CD control OPEN/CLOSE 0 buttons or the CDR control OPEN/CLOSE 0 button is pressed, the power is turned on and the tray opens, but the currently selected function (CD player or CDR) does not change.
•When the 3 (play) button on the remote control is pressed, the power is turned on, the last selected function (CD player or CDR) is recalled. If a disc is loaded in the tray, playback begins.
•When the power is turned off, the Play mode returns to normal.
•If the power cord is unplugged from the wall , the main unit will reset to the factory default settings.
