1Insert a recordable MD.
2Select the music source to
be recorded.

CD: Press the CD 6 key.

Radio: Press the TUNER FM/AM key.

If a CD has already been inserted, playback starts immediately: Stop it by pressing the STOP 7 key (or the 7 STOP key on the remote).

3Press the MD REC key.

The unit enters record-pause mode.

4When the recording source is ready for playback, press the MD REC key again.
5Play the recording source.
To stop recording :

Press the STOP 7key (or the 7STOP key on the remote).

To let recording pause :

Press the MD 6 key during recording. Press the MD REC key again to resume recording from the pause.

In case a message is displayed and recording will not start :

See "Display message list" (page 57).

Tips for recording CD onto MD

When the MD recorder in record-pause mode, the recording can be started automatically at the same time as the playback of CD is started. (Sync recording)

(1)Put the CD player in play-pause mode.

(2)Press the 4 or ¢ key for the required number of times to select the CD track to be recorded.

(3)Press the MD REC key to put the MD recorder in record-pause mode.

(4)Start playing the CD.

MD recording starts in synchronism.

÷Be careful not to apply vibration to the unit while "WRITING" is displayed, because the MD recorder is writing recorded and edited data in the MD in this period. Also, to avoid loss of recorded and edited data, do not unplug the power cord before "WRITING" disappears.
