Erasing several tracks at a time

Use the following procedure to select up to 32 tracks you want to erase and erase them together. The track numbers are adjusted automatically.

1Select the MD input and in- sert a recordable MD.

If the MD is already playing, press the 7 STOP key to stop playback.

2PresstheTRACKEDITkeyrepeat- edly until "3Q. ERASE ?" is dis- played, then press the SET key.

If "X Q.ERASE" is displayed, the subsequent operation will not be available (see page 53).

3Press the 4 or ¢ key re- peatedly to select one of the

tracks to be erased.

Select other tracks to be erased by repeating this step for each.

Select "ALL" if you want to erase all tracks in an MD.

If you commit a mistake, press the CLEAR/ DELETE key to clear the track number and restart selection.

4Press the ENTER key.

5Press the ENTER key again.

It takes a while until the editing completes.

6Eject the MD.

"WRITING" is displayed.

To cancel the Q. ERASE operation in the middle:

Press the TRACK EDIT key any time before the end of step 4.

Editing can be canceled provided that it is attempted before "WRITING" is displayed. For the procedure, see "Canceling editing" (page 44).

÷Be careful not to apply vibration to the unit while "WRITING" is displayed, because the MD recorder is writing recorded and edited data in the MD in this period. Also, to avoid loss of recorded and edited data, do not unplug the power cord before "WRITING" disappears.
