SCS3230 System Administrator's Guide

8.4Overview of Commands

Several levels of access are available to the user, from simple access of the SCS3230 to direct access of servers attached to the SCS3230. Many of the commands are sensitive to which level the user is in, and not all commands are available at all levels.

The first prompt the user should see after connecting to the SCS3230 is the LCI3200> prompt (additional information may be on the screen as indicated in the sections above). This indicates that the user is not currently logged in and that no servers may be reached through the SCS3230. The prompt will change to reflect the level in which the user is, and in monitor mode, will also indicate which server is selected.

The help screens also change according to the user's login level. There are separate help screens for a logged out user, a logged in user, and a user in monitor (a.k.a. device) mode.
