Remote Mode (REMOTE1 jack only)

Use a wired remote (not supplied) to control the PMD671. There are five remote modes:

StartPause – during recording or playback, switch off to pause and on to resume (record- ing on the same track).

StrtStp TR - during recording, switch off to pause recording and on to start recording a new track.

EDL Mark – during recording, switch remote to on to add an EDL mark.

PWR REC – during power off, switch remote on to turn power on and begin recording. During recording, switch remote off to stop recording and power off.

Manual TRK – during recording, switch remote on to increment the track. Recording continues with a new track created at that point.

Default is StartPause.

1.Select the RemoteMode menu choice:

a.From stop, press and hold the MENU button for about 2 seconds. Preset will appear (flashing) in the

display.

b.While Preset is flashing, double click the

ENTER button . The last Menu choice selected will appear.

2.Press and release the F.FWD/+ button re- peatedly until

Remote is dis- played and flashing.

3.Press and release the ENTER button to accept the

Remote choice and switch to RemoteMode choices.

4.Press and release the F.FWD/+ button or

the -/F.REV

button to tab through the

RemoteMode choices: StartPause, StartStp TR, EDL Mark, PWR REC, or Manual TRK.

5.When correct, press and release the ENTER

button to switch to RemoteMode flashing.

You can:

Press and release the F.FWD/+ button or the -/

F.REV button to tab to another menu choice, or

• Press and release the MENU/STORE button to write the menu changes and return to stop mode, or

Press and release the CANCEL button to cancel all menu changes and return to stop mode.

Broadcast Wave ID numbers

Broadcast Wave Format (.bwf) has three identification numbers in the header (Extension Chunk): Description, Originator, and Originator Reference. For example, if the IDs are used for a broadcast station ID1 could be the identifier of the station, ID2 could be used for the department code, and ID3 for the badge number of the reporter.

Default is all ID numbers at 000000.
