5. Use the Right directional Push-button to highlight
the Icon of the desired video adjustment. Refer to fig-
ures 100, 101, 102 and 103.
Note: The adjustments allow the increasing, decreasing
or both from the default setting.
U4 MENU
The U4 Video Menu permits the adjustment of various pic-
ture parameters as follows:
A. The Transfer Mode - Selects from several different
Progressive Scan Processing Modes.
B. 4:3 Aspect - Selects from several different Display
Modes when the picture has a 4:3 aspect ratio and the
TV/Monitor is set to display a 16:9 aspect ratio.
C. Shift Position - Allows the repositioning of subtitles
relative to the picture.
D. Output - Allows the displaying of the picture in Black
and White, Sepia Tone or as Negative.
To activate one of the above Processsing Modes perform
the following steps:
1. Press the DISPLAY Push-button twice to access the
second On Screen Icon.
2. Press the Up directional Push-button to select the
Digital Picture Mode.
3. Press the Right directional Push-button to highlight
the Icon to the right (Monitor) and up/down arrows
will appear on the icon.

4. Press the Up or Down directional Push-buttons to
select U1 and then press the Right directional Push-
button to highlight the Number in the “U” Icon and up/
down arrows will appear on the icon. Press the Up or
Down directional Push-buttons to select U4. Refer to
figure 104.
5. Use the Rightu directional Push-button to highlight the
Icon of the desired video adjustment. Refer to figures
105, 106, 107 and 108.
Display Bightness and Display of the Bit Rate
The Bightness of the Front Panel Alphanumeric Display is
adjustable. Use the Remote Control DISPLAY and DIREC-
TIONAL Push-buttons to first select the second main On-
Screen Icon and then the third Icon in that Group. Then se-
lect the second Icon from the left and choose Bright, Dim
or Auto. Refer to figure 109.
To display the Video Bit
Rate On-Screen follow the
same steps as above, except
set the Bit Icon to On. Then press the DISPLAY Push-but-
ton twice, the bit rate will be displayed on the screen.
