The shutter can also be released by pressing the shutter-release button. If no faces are detected, the camera focuses on the subject at the center of the frame.

Options Available in the Smart Portrait Menu

In smart portrait mode, the following option settings can be changed.

Option	Description			A
	Allow you to select the combination of image size and
Image mode	image quality used when saving images (A71). The			71
	default setting is P4608×3456. This setting is also
	applied to other shooting modes.
Skin softening	Enable skin softening. The camera makes facial skin tones			E41
	softer before saving images. The extent of effect applied
	can be selected. The default setting is Normal.
Smile timer	When set to On (default setting), the camera detects human			E41
	faces and then automatically releases the shutter whenever a
	smile is detected. Self-timer cannot be used with this feature.
	When On is selected, the camera automatically releases
Blink proof	the shutter twice each time a picture is taken. Of the two			E42
	shots, one in which the subject’s eyes are open is saved.
	The flash cannot be used when On is selected.
	The default setting is Off.
