Use under conditions of darkness to record monochrome images at high ISO sensitivities (with some noise in the form of randomly-spaced bright pixels, fog, or lines). Autofocus is available in live view only; manual focus can be used if the camera is unable to focus. The built-in flash and AF-assist illuminator turn off; use of a tripod is recommended to reduce blur.

gColor Sketch

The camera detects and colors outlines for a color sketch effect. Movies shot in this mode play back like a slide show made up of a series of stills. The effect can be chosen during live view (0 118); note that the display refresh rate drops when live view is in effect and that the frame rate drops in continuous release mode. Autofocus is not available during movie recording.

%(Miniature Effect

Distant subjects appear as miniatures. Miniature effect movies play back at high speed, compressing 30 to 45 minutes of footage shot at 1920 × 1080/30 fps into a movie that plays back in about 3 minutes. The effect can be chosen during live view (0 119); note that the display refresh rate drops when live view is in effect and that the frame rate drops in continuous release mode. Sound is not recorded with movies; autofocus is not available during movie recording. The built-in flash and AF-assist illuminator turn off; use of a tripod is recommended when lighting is poor.
