Image Quality and File Size

The approximate number of images that can be stored on a 96-MB memory card at different combinations of image quality and file format is shown in the following table (image type has no effect on file size and hence bears no relation to the number of images that can be stored on a memory card).

*The actual file size (and hence number of images that can be stored on the memory card) JPEG-compressed image will depend on the particular subject and composition. In general the more detail present in an image, the larger the resulting JPEG file.
