CD/DVD Drive
Turning on or off immediately
There are two methods, as follows.
Slide the drive power/open switch (A) to the left.
• Each tim e you slide the switch, you will hear a beep and the drive power will turn on o r
off.
• If you slide the switch to the right, you will hear a beep and the disc cover w ill open after
the drive power turns on.
After you hear the beep, it may take a few moments before the drive power turns on/off, or
until the cover opens. (If the speaker is muted, beeps do not sound.)
Using [Extension setting manual temporary switching] in Power Plan Ex tension Utility.
AClick on the notification area and click .
BClick [On] or [Off] in [Manual switching] of [The optical disc drive’s power].
Using [Manual Switching] of the Optical Disc Drive Power -Saving Utility.
AClick or on the notification area.
BClick [On] or [Off] for [Manual Switching].
NOTE
In the following cases, it is not possible to turn off using [Extension setting - Edit] / [Manual
Switching]:
• When W inDVD is running
• Durin g writing or reading of a disc
Do not slide the drive power/open switch repeatedly.
The [Auto off setting] of [The optical disc drive’s power] in Power Plan Extension Utility works only for the internal CD/
DVD drive.
