[AF Mode]

This allows the focusing method that suits the positions and number of the subjects to be selected.

The camera automatically detects the person’s face. (max.

15 areas)

([Face Detection])

The focus and exposure can then be adjusted to fit that face no

 

 

 

matter what portion of the picture it is in.

Focus can be adjusted to a specified subject. Focus will keep on

([AF Tracking])¢1

following the subject even if it moves. (Dynamic Tracking)

Up to 23 points for each AF area can be focused. This is effective

 

 

when the subject is not in the centre of the screen.

(AF area frame will be same as image aspect ratio setting.)

 

 

 

[Ø]

The camera focuses on the subject in the AF area on the centre

([1-Area])

of the screen.

[Ù]

The camera focuses on a limited narrow area in the screen.

([Spot])¢2

 

¢1 [Ø] will be used during recording motion pictures or using [Time Lapse Shot]. ¢2 [Ø] will be used during recording motion pictures.

[AF Mode] is fixed to [Ø] in the following cases.

[Miniature Effect] (Creative Control Mode)

[Starry Sky] (Scene Mode)

It will be fixed to [š] when the [Face Recog.] is set to [ON].

It is not possible to set [š] in the following cases.

[Soft Focus] (Creative Control Mode)

Advanced Underwater Mode

Panorama Shot Mode

[Night Scenery]/[Handheld Night Shot]/[Food] (Scene Mode)

It is not possible to set [ ] in the following cases.

[Sepia]/[Dynamic Monochrome]/[High Dynamic]/[Toy Effect]/[Soft Focus] (Creative Control Mode)
