Update using the Wi-Fi Function

The GPS assist data can be updated by connecting to a wireless access point that is connected to the internet.

Select [Assist Data] on the [GPS/Sensor] menu, and then press [MENU/ SET].

Press 3/4 to select [Update], and then press [MENU/SET]. Press 3/4 to select [Wi-Fi], and then press [MENU/SET].

The GPS assist data is updated.

The Wi-Fi connection setting screen will be displayed if the Wi-Fi connection settings have not been configured. For details on setting the Wi-Fi connection, refer to P185.

The connection used to update GPS assist data with the Wi-Fi function will not remain in [History Connection] in [Wi-Fi] menu. The connection cannot be registered to [Favorite Connection] either.

Check the validity period of the GPS assist data

The validity period of GPS assist data is 30 days. Using new GPS assist data is recommended.

Press 3/4 to select [Expiry Date], and then press [MENU/SET].

When launching the “GPS Assist Tool” on the PC, the validity period can also be checked on the screen.

The start date of the validity period may differ to the date of the update due to the timing of the GPS assist data update.
