Advanced (Recording pictures)

For details on [REC] mode menu settings, refer to P18.

Most appropriate sensitivity within the range set will be set depending on the brightness of

the subject.

Applicable modes: ³²

[AUTO]/[200]/[400]/[800]/[1600]

•The upper limit of the ISO sensitivity can be set.

•The higher the value set for the ISO sensitivity, the more the jitter is re duced but th e greater th e

amount of picture noise.

Note

•This will work when the [SENSITIVITY] is set to [AUTO] or when the Intelligent ISO is set to

[ON].

•When [INTELLIGENT ISO] is set to [AUTO], and [ISO LIMIT SET] is set to [AUTO], the ISO

sensitivity is automatically set to a maximum of [ISO400] ([ISO1000] when the flash is used)

according to the brightness.

In sunlight, under incandescent lights or in other such conditions where the color of white

takes on a reddish or bluish tinge, this item adjusts to the color of white which is closest to

what is seen by the eye in accordance with the light source.

Note

•The optimal white balance will differ depending on the type of halogen lighting being recorded

under so use [AWB], [ ] or [ ].

•The white balance setting is memorized even if the camera is turned off. (However, the white

balance setting for a scene mode returns to [AWB] when the scene mode is changed.)

∫Setting the white balance manually

This will set the values for the white balance. Use it in accordance with

the recording conditions.

1Select [ ] or [ ] and then press 1.

2Aim the camera at a sheet of white paper etc. so that the

frame in the center is filled by the white object only and then

press [MENU/SET].

[V]: When taking pictures outdoors under a clear sky

[Ð]: When taking pictures outdoors under a cloudy sky
