•When you take a picture with a scene mode that is not adequate for the purpose, the hue of the picture may differ from the actual scene.

•When you want to change the brightness of the picture to be recorded, compensate the exposure (P45). (However, the exposure cannot be compensated in [STARRY SKY].)

•Press 2 and then press 3/4 in the [SCENE MODE] menu to select either the

[REC] menu icon [ ] (P70) or the [SETUP] menu icon [ ] (P19) and set the desired items.

•The following cannot be set in scene mode because the camera automatically adjusts them to the optimal setting.

–[W.BALANCE]

–[SENSITIVITY]

–[METERING MODE]

–[COL.EFFECT]

–[PICT.ADJ.]

Portrait mode

Press [ SET ] to display the [SCENE MODE] menu and select this mode. (P50)

∫Technique for Portrait mode

To increase the effective of this mode:

1Rotate the zoom lever as far as possible to Tele.

2Move close to the subject to make this mode more effective.

•This mode is only suitable when taking pictures outdoors in the daytime.

•ISO sensitivity is fixed to [ISO80].

Soft skin mode

Press [ MENUSET ] to display the [SCENE MODE] menu and select this mode. (P50)

The camera detects the face or skin area to achieve a smoother appearance of the skin than portrait mode.
