#1.1. Fundamental notions & terms
eDVR storing constructure (VFS2)
eDVR series has a peculiar storing constructure, and its features are as follows.
(1)It is possible to connect 2 sets of HDD internally (Internal, ATA Interface) and 63 sets of HDD externally (External, 2 ports of IEEE1394 / External, 2 ports of eSATA / Storage Network).
(2)All of the connected HDDs are recognized as one virtual disk, and eDVR supports upto 8TB.

Backup
(1)Backup is possible only through (IEEE1394 port, eSATA, Storage Network) and HDD for backup should be formatted as FAT32 type. (Its type is indicated as [F] in Disk Manager.)
Disk Manager
(1)When HDD is added or deleted physically, Disk Manager runs automatically after rebooting. If not, you can run “Disk Manager” manually with moving “MenuUtilityDisk Manager”.
