To Set the Digital Zoom

The Digital Zoom is set to O(On) in the default setting. To take pictures using only the optical zoom and Intelligent Zoom, set the Digital Zoom to

P(Off).

	Press the 3 button in A mode.
2	The [A Rec. Mode] menu appears.
	Use the four-way controller (23) to select [Digital
3	Zoom].
	Use the four-way controller (45)	Rec. Mode	2/4

	O Uses Digital Zoom	Movie

The camera returns to capture status.

Taking Pictures of Dark Scenes (Night Scene

Portrait/Night Scene/Digital SR/Fireworks/

Candlelight Mode)

You can choose a shooting mode appropriate for taking pictures of dark scenes, such as nightscapes.

	For images of people at night. Use of a tripod or other
	support is advised.
B Night Scene Portrait	If the Face Detection function is activated when the
	flash mode is set to , (Auto), the flash mode
	automatically changes to d (Flash On + Red-eye).
A Night Scene	For night time images. Use of a tripod or other support
	is suggested.
