automatically set to AUTO and the number of recorded

 

pixels is fixed at f(2592×1944).

S Fireworks

For capturing fireworks. Use of a tripod or other support

is suggested. The shutter speed is fixed at 4 sec. and

 

the sensitivity is fixed at the minimum value.

U Candlelight

For capturing scenes in candlelight.

Four-way controller

1 Press the four-way controller (3) in A mode. The Capture Mode Palette appears.

2 Use the four-way controller (2345) to select B, A, c, S or U.

3 Press the 4 button.

The B, A, c, S or U mode is selected and the camera returns to capture status.

When the camera detects a person’s face, the Face Detection function is activated and the face detection frame appears (p.72).

4 Press the shutter release button halfway.

The focus frame on the display turns green when the camera focuses on the subject at the correct distance.

5 Press the shutter release button fully.

The picture is taken.

• The shutter speed tends to be slower when taking pictures of dark scenes.

To prevent camera shake, set the Shake Reduction function (p.118) or use a tripod and/or remote control (optional) (p.95), or the self-timer function (p.92).
