Playback mode is set to MP3.

Select "JPEG" from MENU in FUNCTIONS if you play pictures ( JPEG ).

To return to the Direct Navigator screen

Press [∫].

To exit the screen

Press [DIRECT NAVIGATOR].

Press [STATUS] twice.
