While playback is stopped, press the DVD button, then press the SETUP button. The setup screen will appear.

Press the Number 4 button to select LOCK.

The SETUP/LOCK menu will appear.

Press the Number 1 button to select LEVEL.

PARENTAL LOCK

NONE		Parental Lock is off.
		All DVDs will play, regardless of rating.
LEVEL 8	[PLAY ALL]
LEVEL 7	[NC-17]	DVDs rated NC-17 or higher will not play.
LEVEL 6	[R]	DVDs rated R or higher will not play.
LEVEL 5		DVDs rated PG13 or higher will not play.
LEVEL 4	[PG13]
LEVEL 3	[PG]	DVDs rated PG or higher will not play.
LEVEL 2		DVDs rated G or higher will not play. Only
LEVEL 1	[G]
Enter		DVDs that are not rated will play.

Press the o or p button to select the level you want to block, then press the ENTER button. For example, if you want to play Discs rated PG13, you must select LEVEL 5 or high- er.

The SETUP/LOCK menu will reappear. The level you selected will appear on the screen beside LEVEL.

Press the RETURN button twice to remove the menu.

RATING EXPLANATIONS

•NC-17 - Under 17 not admitted

•R - Restricted; under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian

•PG13 - Unsuitable for children under 13

•PG - Parental Guidance suggested

•G - General Audience

Helpful Hints

•Some DVDs are not compatible with Parental Lock. Make sure the DVD plays according to the Parental Lock settings you have made.

•The TV/DVD will not allow you to change LEVEL settings until you enter the correct password.

•When you try to play a Disc that has a rating that exceeds the level you set, a message will appear on the screen, indicating the Disc cannot be played.

If this happens, remove the Disc, then select a level that allows playback. Or select NONE to turn off Parental Lock. Load the Disc again and begin playback as usual. Some Discs may allow you to simply enter your 4-digit password, then begin playback auto- matically. Follow the instructions pro- vided by the Disc message.
