SETUP
Now that your Set Top Box is connected, you are ready to set up your AOLTV service and sign on.
•First, press POWER on the keyboard to turn on the Set Top Box.
•Make sure all the other equipment, such as the TV, VCR, and
Cable Box, is on.
IF YOU DON’T SEE THE AOLTV SCREEN:
•Make sure all the cables are attached firmly.
•Make sure all equipment is connected properly.
•If you used the red and white audio cables and the yellow video or
•If you used the coaxial cable to connect the Set Top Box and the TV or VCR, set the TV to channel 3 or 4.
•Press SET TOP on the remote.

USING A SINGLE PHONE LINE
Connecting to the AOLTV service is also called “being online.” If the phone line you use with your Set Top Box is the only phone you have, it will be busy while you are online unless you have call waiting. See Call Waiting and AOL below for fur- ther details.
•If you need to make an emergency call, just pick up the phone. In a few seconds, the Set Top Box will disconnect from the AOLTV service. Press the switchhook on your phone to get a dial tone.

Here are some further details about call waiting.
•If you have call waiting service turned on, your Set Top Box disconnects automatically when you get an incoming call. The person calling you hears a ring.
•If you don’t have call waiting, or if you choose to turn it off while you are online, callers get a busy signal.
•If you turn off call waiting while you are online, it’s automatically turned back on when you sign off.
•Different phone services might have different codes to turn off call waiting. Contact your phone company if you’re not sure of your code. The code also may be listed in your local tele- phone directory.
