SETTING UP THE UNIVERSAL REMOTE CONTROL

The Set Top Box remote control can replace as many as four different remote controls. It may operate some functions of your TV, VCR, Cable Box, or amplifier/receiver.

With batteries in the Set Top Box remote con- trol, follow the steps below to make the remote control your other equipment. You will follow the steps for each piece of equipment.

If your brand is not listed on pages 29-31, or if the remote won’t operate the equipment after you finish steps 1-3, continue to use the remote control originally provided for your TV, VCR, Cable Box or amplifier/receiver.

Simultaneously press the SET button and the device button of the device you want to con- trol (TV, VCR, CABLE, or SAT/AUX). Release both buttons.

Press the Number buttons to enter the three-digit code for your brand of equipment. Refer to the Code Lists on pages 29-31.

With your equipment turned on, test the remote control by pressing the Channel + button to switch your device to the next higher channel. When the Channel +/- buttons on the remote change the channels, your remote is programmed correctly.
