1Playtime indicator
Showsthe elapsed playing time of the cur-
renttrack.
2Tracknumber indicator
Showsthe track currently playing.
1 Inserta CD into the CD loading slot.
Playbackwill automatically start.
#Besure to turn up the label side of adisc.
#Aftera CD has been inserted, press SOURCE
toselect the built-in CD player.
#Youcan eject a CD by pressing EJECT.
2 UseVOLUME to adjust the sound level.
3 Toperform fast forward or reverse,
pressand hold cor d.
#Ifyou select ROUGH, pressing and holding c
ordenables you to search every 10 tracks in the
currentdisc. (Refer to Selecting the search meth-
odon the next page.)
4 Toskip back or forward to another
track,press cor d.
Pressingdskips to the start of the next track.
Pressingconce skips to the start of the cur-
renttrack. Pressing again will skip to the pre-
vioustrack.
Notes
!Thebuilt-in CD player plays one, standard, 12-
cmor 8-cm (single) CD at a time. Do not use
anadapter when playing 8-cm CDs.
!Donot insert anything other than a CD into
theCD loading slot.
!Ifan error message such as ERROR-11 is dis-
played,refer to Understanding built-in CD
playererror messages on page 25.
Repeating play
Repeatplay lets you hear the same trackover
again.
%Press5 repeatedly to turn repeat play
onor off.
Whenrepeat play is on, RPT appears in the
display.
#Ifyou perform track search or fastforward/re-
verse,repeat play is automatically cancelled.
Playing tracks in a randomorder
Randomplay lets you play back tracks on the
CDin a random order.
%Press4 repeatedly to turn random play
onor off.
Whenrandom play is on, RDM appears in the
display.
Scanning tracks of a CD
Scanplay lets you hear the first 10 seconds of
eachtrack on the CD.
1 Press3 to turn scan play on.
SCANappears in the display. The first 10 sec-
ondsof each track is played.
