Using subwoofer output

Thisunit is equipped with a subwoofer output

whichcan be switched on or off. When a sub-

wooferis connected to the rear output, first,

switchthe rear output setting to subwoofer,

thenturn the subwoofer output on.For more

details,see Switching the rear output setting

onpage 43.

1 PressDSP to select SUB.W.

Whenthe rear output setting is subwoofer,

youcan select SUB.W. Press DSP until SUB.W

appearsin the display.

Pressato turn subwoofer output on.

SUB.W:ON appears in the display. Subwoofer

outputis now on.

#Youcan turn off subwoofer output by press-

ingb.

3 Presscor dto select the phase of

subwooferoutput.

Presscto select reverse phase and ap-

pearsin the display. Press dto select normal

phaseand appearsin the display.

Adjusting subwoofer settings

Whenthe subwoofer output is on,you can ad-

justthe cut-off frequency and the output level

ofthe subwoofer.

1 PressDSP to select the subwoofer

setting.

Whenthe subwoofer output is on,you can se-

lectthe subwoofer setting. Press DSP until

80Hzappears in the display.

#Ifthe subwoofer setting has been previously

adjusted,the frequency of that previously se-

lectedwill be displayed, such as 50Hz or 125Hz.

2 Presscor dto select cut-off

frequency.

Presscand 50Hz is displayed. Press dand

125Hzis displayed. Only frequencies lower

thanthose in the selected range are output

fromthe subwoofer.

3 Pressaor bto adjust the output

levelof the subwoofer.

Eachpress of aor bincreases or decreases

thelevel of the subwoofer (e.g., +6 to 15).

Pressaor buntil you see the desired value

displayed.

Using the high pass filter

Whenyou do not want low sounds from the

subwooferoutput frequency range to play

fromthe front speakers, switch the HPF (high

passfilter) on. Only frequencies higher than

thosein the selected range are output from

thefront speakers.

1 PressDSP to select HPF.

Whenthe rear output setting is subwoofer,

youcan select HPF. Press DSPuntil HPF ap-

pearsin the display.

2 Pressato turn high pass filter on.

HPF80Hz appears in the display. High pass fil-

teris now on.

#Toturn high pass filter off, press b.

3 Presscor dto select a high pass

filterrange.

Presscand HPF 50Hz is displayed. Press d

andHPF 125Hz is displayed. Only frequencies

higherthan those in the selected range are

outputfrom the front speakers.
