Polar Fitness Test

Totrain right and to monitor your progress, it is
importantto know your current fitness level. The
PolarFitness Test™ is an easy and quick way to
measureyour cardiovascular fitness and aerobic
capacity.The test is performed at rest.
Thetest result is a value called Polar OwnIndex®.
OwnIndexis comparable to maximum oxygen
uptake(VO2max), a commonly used aerobic

TheOwnIndex value affects the accuracy of calorie
calculationduring training.
Thetest is developed for healthy adults. To make
surethe test results are reliable:
avoiddistractions. The more relaxed you are and
themore peaceful the testing environment is,
themore accurate the test result will be (for
instance,no television, telephone or talking).
avoidheavy physical exertion, alcohol and
unprescribedpharmacological stimulants on the
testday and the day before.
avoideating a heavy meal or smoking 2-3 hours
priorto the test.
alwaysperform the test in similar conditions and
atthe same time during the day.
