7 – Windows XP Driver Installation

System Registry Parameters

 

 

 

 

Follow these steps to complete the driver installation:

1.When the Digital Signature Not Found dialog box displays, click Yes.

2.When the Insert Disk message displays, insert the QLogic disk created in section 7.2 into drive A. Click OK.

3.In the Found New Hardware Wizard/Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box, click Finish.

4.The following message displays:

Your hardware settings have changed. You must restart your computer for these changes to take effect.

Do you want to restart your computer now?

Click Yes.

Removing the Driver

To uninstall the QLA23xx HBA, power down your computer and remove the HBA from your computer according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

NOTE: You do not have to use the Device Manager or the Hardware Wizard to uninstall the QLA23xx HBA. After you have removed the HBA and restarted your computer, Windows XP recognizes that the HBA has been removed.

MaximumSGList

Windows XP includes enhanced scatter/gather list support for doing large SCSI I/O transfers. Windows XP supports up to 256 scatter/gather segments of 4096 bytes each, allowing transfers up to 1048576 bytes.

NOTE: OEMSETUP.INF automatically updates the registry to support 33 scatter/gather segments. This setting provides the best overall performance.
