Note: If you enter the correct remote operation security code, but the TAD does not accept it, the code might have reset to the default (99) because of a power failure. Try entering 99 as the re- mote operation security code. If this works, replace the TAD’s backup bat- tery and reset the remote operation se- curity code (see “Setting the Day and Time” on Page 23 and “Setting the Re- mote Operation Security Code” on Page 22).

USING REMOTE

COMMANDS

Follow these steps to operate the TAD from the cordless handset or a remote touch-tone phone.

1.After you access the TAD by remote, the TAD announces either “X new message(s)” or “No new messages,” indicating the total number of new messages stored in all mailboxes.

Note: The TAD announces “Mem- ory full” if there is no more space for messages, and “Low battery” if the back-up battery power is low.

The TAD then announces “Press one to play messages. Press six to select mailbox. Press star for other functions.”

Notes:

If you want to hang up the phone in the middle of playing mes- sages, press 4 to stop message playback before you hang up. If you don’t stop message play- back, the TAD continues to play messages and tie up your phone line.

If you do not press a button within 20 seconds, the TAD hangs up.

2.Enter your selection.

3.When your selected option is com- pleted, the TAD repeats the list of remote commands. Enter a new command or hang up the phone.
