Using two Upper parts (Layer)

The EM-15 OR’s Upper 1 part is assigned to the right half of the keyboard (in ARRANGER and ORGAN modes) or to the entire keyboard (PIANO mode).

In all modes except M.DRUMS, you can add a second part (Upper 2) to Upper 1 by activating the LAYER function. This allows you to play two sounds simultaneously (piano and strings, for example).

La partie Upper 1 de l’EM-15 OR est assignée à la moitié droite du clavier (en modes ARRANGER et ORGAN) ou au clavier entier (en mode PIANO).

Tous les modes sauf M.DRUMS permettent d’ajouter une deuxième partie (Upper 2) à Upper 1 en activant la fonc- tion LAYER. Cela vous permet de jouer simultanément deux sons superposés (piano et cordes, par exemple).

(1)To use both Upper 1 and Upper 2, press the [MELODY INT] button once or twice until the Layer icon (see right illustration) appears in the display.

The Layer icon tells you that the Upper 2 part is now added to Upper 1. Every solo/melody note you play will be sounded by two Tones.

Note: The Layer function is not available when you activate the Melody Intelligence function (see p. 36).

(2)Press [MELODY INT] again to switch de Layer function off again.

Note: By doing so, you may activate the Melody Intelligence function. If that is not what you want, press [MELODY INT] again (so that neither the MELODY INTELL nor the LAYER icon is dis- played).

L’icône Layer vous indique que la partie Upper 2 est à pré- sent superposée à Upper 1. Chaque note de votre solo/ mélodie déclenche donc deux sons.

Remarque: La fonction Layer n’est pas disponible quand vous avez activé la fonction Melody Intelligence (voyez p. 36).

(2)Appuyez à nouveau sur [MELODY INT] pour couper la fonction Layer.

Remarque: Ce faisant, vous pourriez activer la fonction Melody Intelligence. Si c’est le cas et que cela ne vous arrange pas, appuyez à nouveau sur [MELODY INT] (de sorte que ni l’icône MELODY INTELL ni l’icône LAYER ne soit affichée).
