Understanding the Control Panel

Status	Toner	Description
LED	LEDs

lights	All LEDs	The printer is ready to print.
green	off
slowly	All LEDs	The printer is receiving data from
blinks	off	the computer.
green
fast blinks	All LEDs	The printer is printing data.
green	off
lights red	All LEDs	• The printer is experiencing an
	off	error, such as jammed paper,
		open cover, empty paper, not
		installated waste toner container,
		or full waste toner container.

•The printer is experiencing a service required error, such as

LSU error, fuser error, or ITB error. Contact your sales or service representative.

lights	each LED	Each toner cartridge is near the
green	blinks red	end of its life.

Status	Toner	Description
LED	LEDs
blinks red	each LED	Each toner cartridge is almost
	lights red	empty. You can print. but the
		quality is not reliable.
lights red	each LED	• Each toner cartridge is totally
	lights red	exhausted. You can not print.
		• Each toner cartridge is wrong.
lights	each LED	The printer is warming up.
green	blinks red

	repeated
	order

NOTE: All printing errors will be appear in the Smart Panel program window.

Stop button

Function	Description
Printing	In Ready mode, press and hold this button
demo page	for about 2 seconds until the Status LED
	blinks fast, and release.
Printing	In Ready mode, press and hold this button
configuration	for about 5 seconds until the Status LED
sheets	blinks fast, and release.
Canceling	Press this button during printing. The red
print job	LED blinks while the print job is cleared
	from both the printer and the computer,
	and then the printer returns to Ready
	mode. This may take some time depending
	on the size of the print job.
