Dolby Digital 5.1 Channel Surround Sound is possible only if DVDs are recorded with "Dolby Digital 5.1 Channel" and a Dolby Digital amplifier is connected to the DVD player.

Check that the disc has "Dolby Digital 5.1 Channel" mark.

In the stop mode, press the SETUP button on the remote control to check that the audio setup in the initial setup is correct.
