Getting connected

Connecting to the Internet or your network

You can use the Connections settings to create dial-up, Virtual Private Network (VPN), GPRS, and proxy connections so that you can connect to the Internet or your corporate network. By using a data connection, you can browse the Internet, download e-mails, chat by using MSN® Messenger, or synchronise remotely with an Exchange Server. Check with your service provider to see if a data connection has already been set up for you, and if over-the-air configuration is supported.

Creating a dial-up connection

You can create a dial-up connection to connect remotely to the Internet, a Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) network, or your corporate network. Then, when you open a program that is configured to use this connection, the phone uses it to automatically connect to the network.

1.On the Home screen, press the Start soft key.

2.Select Settings More... Connections Dial up.

3.Press the Menu soft key and select Add.

4.Enter the requested information.

Description: Enter a name for the connection.

Connects to: Select a type of network for which the connection will be used.

Phone number: Enter the dial-up number you use to connect to the network.

User name: Enter your network user name.
