Setting other Preferences
There are other items located in the General preferences menu that setup
how the handheld computer functions. These preferences are:
Note: The Auto-off after setting is also used to determine when the display
will shut off during phone calls.
Auto-off after: - This determines the amount of time the handheld
LCD backlight remains ON when there is no activity. Setting this
preference to a lower value conserves battery power. The available
settings are 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, or 3 minutes.
System Sound: - This is the sound level of the system. The available
settings are OFF, Low, Medium, or High.
Alarm Sound: - This is the sound level for alarms that are
configured on the handheld computer. The available settings are
OFF, Low, Medium, or High.
Alarm Vibrate: This enables the vibrator for the alarm function. The
default setting is Off.
Alarm LED: This enables the LED to flash for the alarm function.
The default setting is On.
Game Sound: - This is the sound level for games installed on the
handheld computer. The available settings are OFF, Low, Medium,
or High.
Beam Receive: - This option allows the handheld computer to
accept information from another IR device through the use of
beaming. An infrared beam is sent between the two devices and
information is exchanged. This option must be set to ON to work
correctly.
