If this product is subjected to strong external inter- ference (mechanical shock, excessive static elec- tricity, abnormal supply voltage due to lightning, etc.) or if it is operated incorrectly, it may malfunction or the display may not function correctly. If such a prob- lem occurs, do the following:

1 Press the ON/STAND-BY button to enter the stand-by mode.

2 Press the ON/STAND-BY button whilst holding down the EQUALIZER button and the PLAY button.

●“ALL CLEAR” will appear.

Caution:

●The operation explained above will erase all data stored in memory including clock and timer settings, and tuner, MD and CD presets.

MAINTENANCE

■Internal care

●Do not touch the Laser pickup lens. If fingerprints or dust accumulate on the pickup, clean it gently with a dry cotton swab.

■External care

●Periodically wipe the cabinet with a soft cloth and a diluted soap solution, then wipe with a dry cloth.

●Do not use chemically treated cleaning cloths or other chemicals.

■Care of compact discs

Correct

Compact discs are fairly resistant to damage, how- ever mistracking can occur due to an accumulation of dirt on the disc surface.

Follow the guidelines below for maximum enjoy- ment from your CD collection and player.

●Do not write on either side of the disc, particu- larly the non-label side.

Signals are read from the non-label side. Do not mark this surface.

●Keep your discs away from direct sunlight, heat, and excessive moisture.

●Always hold the CDs by the edges. Fingerprints, dirt, or water on the CDs can cause noise or mistracking. If a CD is dirty or does not play prop- erly, clean it with a soft, dry cloth, wiping straight out from the centre, along the radius.
