STEP 5: Set up Your Dial-up Connection
To set up your dial-up connection, use the network connection wizard
included with Windows.
1. Windows 95/98 — Go to My Computer | Dial-Up Networking |
Make New Connection.
Windows Me — Go to My Computer | Control Panel | Dial-Up Networking |
Make New Connection.
Windows 2000 — Go to Start | Settings | Control Panel |
Network and Dial-Up Connections | Make New Connection.
Windows XP — Go to Start | Control Panel | Network Connections |
Create a New Connection.
2. Follow the wizard to set up a connection, making the following
selections as prompted:
Select a device: Select Standard PCMCIA Card Modem.
Telephone number: Enter the dial-up number of your office
network/ISP.
