Clearing a Paper Jam
If the paper jams in the printer:
1Pull the paper out of either the IN tray or the OUT tray.
2Press the Resume Button on the front of the printer to clear the paper jam.
3If the paper jam has cleared, print your document again. If the paper jam was
not cleared by pressing the Resume Button, and you cannot remove the
jammed paper from the front of the printer, follow the steps in the next section.
If the Automatic Two-Sided Printing
Module is attached and the paper jam
is in the Module:
1Turn your printer off.
2Press the button on top of the Two-Sided
Printing Module and lower the access
door.
3Pull the jammed paper out of the Module,
then close the access door.
4Turn your printer on, then print your document again.
Two-Sided printing was
selected, but printing is only
on one side of the paper.
• Re-attach the Automatic Two-Sided Printing Module. See “Installing the
Automatic Two-Sided Printing Module” on page 3.
• Check the Features tab to ensure you have checked Two-Sided Printing. See
“Features Tab” on page 8.
• Be sure that you have selected a supported media size (see page 47) in the
software program that you are using.
In Two-Sided Printing, the
binding margin appears in
the wrong place.
• Check the Setup tab to ensure you have chosen the correct paper orientation. See
“Setup Tab” on page 7.
• Make sure you selected Book or Tablet on the Features tab. For correct
orientation, see “Features Tab” on page 8.
Print Cartridge Status Light
won’t stop blinking.
• See “Print Cartridge Status” on page 29.
• Make sure the printer’s top cover is closed.
The printer is jammed. • See “Clearing a Paper Jam” on page 40.
You have printing problems
on a networked printer.
