None uf the functions except cassette ejectiuu will work. lEject the cassette, turn off your camcorder, and leave it for about one hour with the cassette lid open. Your camcorder carl be used again when both of the following conditions are met:

Tile warning message does not appear when the power is turned on.

Neither [] or A flash when a casselte is inserted

and video operation buttons are touched.

If moisture starts to condense, your camcorder sometimes cannot detect

condensation. If this happens, tile cassette is sometimes not _iected li)r 10 seconds after the cassette lid is opened. This is riot a malRmctiuu. Do not close tile cassette lid

until tile cassette is ejected.

NNote on moisture condensation

Moisture may condense when you bring your camcorder from a cold place into a warlu phlce (or vice versa) or when you use your camcorder in a humid place as shown below.

• When you bring your camcorder liom a ski slope into a place warmed up by a beating dcvice.

When you bring your camcorder liom an air conditioned cal or room into a hot place outside.

NHow to avoid moisture condensation

When you bring your camcorder from a cold place into a warm place, put your camcorder in a plastic bag and seal it tightly. Remove tile bag wile)) tile air temperature inside the plastic bag has reached tile surrounding temperature (after about one hour).

Videohead

If you play back a tape recorded in HDV format, the image and sound may lheeze lk_r a while (about 0.5 seconds).

This occurs if tile HDV signals cannot be recurded or played back correctly because uf dirt on the tape or vide() head. Depending

uuthe cassette, this fairly infrequently occurs even if the cassette is brand new or is not used a lot.

If this lheezing point is created while playing back, you can solve this problem and see the pictures by rewinding afler slightly forwarding. Such a freezing point cannot be recovered if it was created while recording.

To prevent such a problem, use the Sony mini DV cassette. It is recommended you use a cleaning cassette (optional) befure recording anything important.
