You can select the analog audio signals for output to a stereo amplifier or speakers in another room. For details on the connection, see pages 14 and 18.

To output the sound using the 2ND ROOM OUT jacks (2nd room)

1 (STR-DA5ES) Press 2ND/3RD ROOM

repeatedly to select “2ND ROOM”.

(STR-DA3ES) Press 2ND ROOM.

2 Turn the jog dial to select the analog audio signals.

The audio source changes cyclically as follows:

SOURCE* t VIDEO 1 t VIDEO 2 t VIDEO 3 t DVD/LD t TV/SAT t TAPE t MD/DAT t CD/SACD t

TUNER

* The audio signals of the current function is output.

Tips

When “SOURCE” is selected, the signals input to the MULTI CH IN jacks are not output from the 2ND ROOM OUT jacks even when MULTI/2CH ANALOG DIRECT is set to MULTI CH 1 or 2 DIRECT. The analog audio signals of the current function are output.

Only signals from components connected to the analog input jacks are output through the 2ND ROOM OUT jacks. No signals are output from components connected to only the digital input jacks.

To output the sound using the SPEAKERS terminals (3rd room)

(For STR-DA5ES)

You can output the different source to the 2nd room and the 3rd room.

1 Set the SPEAKER switch to “MAIN + 3RD ROOM”.

The indicator lights up.

2 Press 2ND/3RD ROOM repeatedly to select “3RD ROOM”, then turn the jog dial to select the analog audio signals.

The audio source changes cyclically as follows:

*The audio signals of the current function is output.

3 Adjust the volume using the remote.

Set the remote to the 3rd room mode. For details, see page 73.
