Turn on the power of the TV, amplifier and any other

• Make sure tile disc is sitting properly in tile correct
recess, with the label side up.
• If a disc is dirty oi" has scratches, the pictures may
appear distorted and the playback operation may
stop. In such cases, clean the disc and unplug the
power cord and then plug it again before resuming
playback.
• With DVDs that use some titles for playback
program signals, playback may start from the second
fl0e, or it may skip these titles.
• Dm'ing the playback of two layered disc, pictures
may stop for a moment. Tlris happens when the I st
layer switches to the 2nd laym: This is not a mal-
function.
Some DVDs contain their own menus, such as a
guidance menu wlrich describes the contents of the
disc or a selection menu for sound, language and other
customized settings.

•Press the arrow bunons (Y/A/IP'/4) to change the
setting, and then press the ENTER bunon.

tray has been dosed by pressing the OPEN/CLOSE

With a DVD containing a title menu, you can select

•If you press the OPEN/CLOSE button in the
TV/VCR mode or power-off, the DVD tray will
open.
• If you press the DVD side PLAY button in the
TV/VCR mode or power off, you can start the DVD
playback.
• A "prnhibited icon'' may appear at
the top-right on the TV screen
during operation, warning that a
prohibited nperation has been
encountered by the DVD player
