LCD_A Controller Introduction
19-2 LCD_A Controller
19.1 LCD_A Controller Introduction
The LCD_A controller directly drives LCD displays by creating the ac segment
and common voltage signals automatically. The MSP430 LCD controller can
support static, 2-mux, 3-mux, and 4-mux LCDs.
The LCD controller features are:
-Display memory
-Automatic signal generation
-Configurable frame frequency
-Blinking capability
-Regulated charge pump
-Contrast control by software
-Support for 4 types of LCDs:
JStatic
J2-mux, 1/2 bias or 1/3 bias
J3-mux, 1/2 bias or 1/3 bias
J4-mux, 1/2 bias or 1/3 bias
The LCD controller block diagram is shown in Figure 19−1.
Note: Maximum LCD Segment Control
The maximum number of segment lines available differs with device. See the
device-specific datasheet for available segment pins.
