Removing the battery
1Save your work.
2Shut down the computer.
CAUTION: Never remove the battery while the computer is on.
3Close the display panel, ensuring that it snaps into place.
4Turn the computer upside down with the front of the computer facing you.
5Slide the battery release latch as shown in the illustration.

6Gently pull the battery out of the battery bay.
WARNING: If the battery is leaking or its case is cracked, put on protective gloves to handle it, and discard it immediately following the advice in “Disposing of used batteries safely” on page 107.
