Using the computer for the first time

 

 

 

Select one of the time zones listed by clicking the up and down arrow keys to highlight the appropriate time zone, then click Next to change the setting.

❖Confirm acceptance of Microsoft’s End User License Agreement and complete information about the operating system.

❖You may be offered the opportunity to register your computer with Toshiba. If not, make sure you register later. For more information, see “Registering your computer” on page 61.

NOTE: To register online, your computer’s modem must be connected to a voice-grade telephone line, or to a Local Area Network via the LAN port.

❖Read about Warranty Extensions and Upgrades.

This step provides important information from Microsoft.

❖Sign up for Internet access.

Completing installation

Upon completion, you will be prompted to click Finish to restart your computer.

Registering your computer

Registering your computer lets Toshiba keep you up-to-date with information about new products and upgrades, and also extends your Toshiba warranty worldwide at no charge to you.

To register your computer at a later time, select No, I do not want to register at this time. A registration icon appears on your desktop as a reminder to register later.

To register your computer, double-click the Registration icon on your desktop and follow the instructions.
