Connectingadigitalaudiosystem

The TV's Digital Audio Out terminal outputs a Dolby@
Digital or 2-channel down-mixed PCM (pulse-code modulation)
signal for use with an external Dolby@ Digital decoder or other
external audio system with optical audio input.
You will need anoptical audio cable (Use anoptical audio cable
that has thelarger "TosLink _'_'' connector and not the smaller
"mini-optical" connector.)

To control the audio:
1 Turn on the TV and the digital audio device.
2 Press the MENU button on the remote control and open the
Sound menu.
3 Press the 41/_ (arrow) buttons to select DigitalAudio Output
and then press the ENTER button.
4 Press the 41/_ (arrow) buttons to select either Auto or PCM,
depending on your device.
NOTE Someaudiosystemsmaynotbecompatiblewith Dolbye>Digitalor
DTS®bitstreamsignals.Olderaudiosystemsthatarenotcompatible
withstandardopticaloutsignalsmaynotworkproperly,creatinga
highnoiselevelthatmaydamagespeakersor headphones.THIS
DAMAGEISNOTCOVEREDBYYOURWARRANTY.TheDIGITAL
AUDIOOUTterminalmaynotoutputsomedigitalaudiosources
becauseofcopyrestrictions.
