Safety
Electronic DevicesYour wireless handheld portable telephone is a low power radi o
transmitter and receiver. When it is ON, it receives and als o sends out
radio frequency (RF) signals.
Most modern electronic equipment is shielded f rom RF energy.
However, certain electronic equipment may not be shielded again st
the RF signals from your wireless phone. Therefo re, use of your phone
must be restricted in certain situations.
PacemakersThe Health Industry Manufacturers As sociation recommends that
a minimum separation of six (6) inches be maintained betwe en
a handheld wireless phone and a pacemaker to avoid potential
interference with the pacemaker. These recommendat ions are
consistent with the independent research by and recomm endations of
Wireless Technology Research.
Never come closer than six (6) inches to a person with a hea rt
pacemaker implant when using your phone. Doing s o could result in
interference with the function of the pacema ker.
Persons with pacemakers:
ALWAYS keep the phone more than six (6) inches from your
pacemaker when the phone is turned on.
Do not carry the phone in a breast pocket.
Use the ear opposite the pacemaker to minimize the potential fo r
interference.
If you have any reason to suspect that interference is taking place,
turn your phone OFF immediately.
Hearing AidsSome digital wireless phones may interfere with s ome hearing aids. In
the event of such interference, you may want to consult your ser vice
provider (or call the customer service line to discuss altern atives).
