Answering system operation
Message alert
The message alert functio n produces an audio tone to remind you that th ere are new messages on
the answering system.
1. Press SETUP three times and you will hear “Message alert. To change
the setting, press CHANGE ”.
2. Press CHAN GE to conrm the current s tatus (on or off) is also
displayed on the message window.
3. Press CHANGE again to chang e the setting.
4. Press SETUP to save and advance to the next menu option or press
PLAY/STOP / to save and exit.
When the message aler t function is on, the base unit beeps every
10 seconds. PL AY/STOP / and the number of messages in the
message window ash when there are new messages. PLAY/STOP
/ and the number in the message window are on steadily to indicate
there are no new messages.
Announcement only mode
In announcemen t only mode, callers hear an announcement but cannot leave messag es. When
announcement only is turned on, calls are answered with the pre-r ecorded announcemen t “We’re
sorry. Messages to this number canno t be accepted”.
Turn the announcement only mode off or on
• Press SETUP four times until you hear “Announcement only. Record no messages. To chang e
the setting, press CHANGE.”
• Press CHANGE until you hear the o ption you want (on or off).
• Press PLAY/STOP / to save and exit.

from a remote
location phone
may not function
due to telephone
line conditions
such as line
noise, echo, etc.
