Taking care of your telephone
Your cordless telephone contains sophisticated electronic parts, so it must be treated with care.
Avoid rough treatment
Place the handset down gently. Save the original packing materials to protect your telephone if you ever need to ship it.
Avoid water
Your telephone can be damaged if it gets wet. Do not use the handset outdoors in the rain, or handle it with wet hands. Do not install your base unit near a sink, bathtub or shower.
Electrical storms
Electrical storms can sometimes cause power surges harmful to electronic equipment. For your own safety, use caution when using electric appliances during storms.
Cleaning your telephone
Your telephone has a durable plastic casing that should retain its luster for many years. Clean it only with a soft cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild soap. Do not use excess water or
cleaning solvents of any kind.
Remember that electrical appliances can cause serious injury if used when you are wet or standing in water. If your base unit should fall into water, DO NOT RETRIEVE IT UNTIL YOU
UNPLUG THE POWER CORD AND TELEPHONE LINE CORDS FROM THE WALL. Then pull the unit out by the unplugged cords.
What does this limited warranty cover?
• The manufacturer of this VTech produc t, VTech Communicat ions, warrants to th e holder of a valid proof o f purchase (“Con sumer” or “you”) t hat the product and a ll accessories pr ovided by
VTech in the sales package (“Pro duct”) are free f rom material defec ts in material and work manship, pursuant t o the following terms a nd conditions, w hen installed and us ed normally and in
accordance with operati on instruction s. This limited warra nty extends only to t he Consumer for Prod ucts purchased an d used in the United St ates of America.
What will VTech Communications do if the Product is not free from material defects in materials and workmanship during the limited warranty period (“Materially Defective Product”)?
• During the limi ted warranty peri od, VTech’s authorized se rvice represen tative will repair or re place at VTech’s option, w ithout charge, a Mate rially Defective Pr oduct. If we repair t his
product, we may use new or r efurbished repl acement parts. If w e choose to replace t his product, we may re place it with a new or ref urbished produc t of the same or similar d esign. VTech
will return repaired o r replacement prod ucts to you in workin g condition. VTech wi ll retain defective p arts, modules, o r equipment. Repai r or replacement of Pro duct, at VTech’s option, i s
your exclusive remedy. You shou ld expect the repair o r replacement to take a pproximately 30 days .
How long is the limited warranty period?
• The limited warr anty period for th e product extends f or ONE (1) YEAR from the date of purc hase if we repair or rep lace a Materially De fective Product un der the terms of this li mited
warranty. This limited w arranty also appl ies to repaired or repl acement Product s for a period of either (a) 9 0 days from the date the re paired or replacem ent Product is shipp ed to you or (b)
the time remaining on t he original one-y ear warranty; whic hever is longer.
What is not covered by this limited warranty?
This limited warranty does not cover
1. Produ ct that has been subje cted to misuse, acci dent, shipping or o ther physical dama ge, improper insta llation, abnorma l operation or handl ing, neglect, inu ndation, re, water or ot her liquid
intrusion; or
2. Produ ct that has been damag ed due to repair, alterati on or modicatio n by anyone other than an aut horized servic e representative of V Tech; or
3. Product to the extent that th e problem experien ced is caused by sign al conditions, net work reliabilit y or cable or antenna s ystems; or
4. Produ ct to the extent that th e problem is caused by u se with non-VTech elec trical access ories; or
