Troubleshooting
If you have difculty operating yo ur phone, the suggestions below shou ld solve the problem. If you still have dif culty after
trying these suggestion s, call VTech Communications at 1-800 -595-9511. In Canada, call VTech Telecommunications
Canada Ltd. at 1-800-267-7377.
Problem Suggestion
My phone doesn’t
work at all.
• Make sure the power c ord is plugged in.
• Make sure the tel ephone line cord is plugged r mly into the base unit and the telep hone wall
jack.
• Disconn ect the AC adaptor for a few minutes, and then rec onnect it.
• Charge the battery in the handset for at least 16 hours. For optimum daily performance, return
the handset to its base when not in use.
• Reset th e base. Unplug the unit’s electrical power. Wait for 15 seconds t hen plug it back in.
Allow up to one minute for the handset and b ase to reset.
• You may need to purch ase a new battery, please refer to the Batteries section of t his user’s
manual.
I cannot get a dial
tone.
• Try all the suggest ions above.
• Move the hands et closer to the base. You might have moved out of range.
• Your line cord might be ma lfunctioning. Try installing a new line c ord.
• If the previou s suggestions don’t work, disc onnect the base unit from the tel ephone jack and
connect a different pho ne. If there is no dial tone on that p hone either, the problem is in your
wiring or local service. Co ntact your local telephone comp any.
