Problem Suggestion
My caller ID isn’t
working.
• Caller ID is a subscription servic e. You must subscribe to this servic e for this feature to work
on your phone.
• Your caller must be c alling from an area that supports c aller ID.
• Both you an d your caller’s telephone companies mus t use caller ID compatible equipme nt.
My answering
machine is not
recording messages.
• Make sure syste m is turned ON (the ANS ON/OFF key is il luminated).
• Make sure th e announce only feature is set to OFF.
I cannot hear recorded
messages.
• Using th e telephone base volume control, rais e the volume to a comfortable liste ning level.

• You need to set the day and time. Refer to the secti on(s) on s etting day and time in this
user’s manual.
• Make sure ann ounce only feature is set to OFF.
Common cure for
electronic equipment.
If the unit does not seem to be responding normally, then try putting the handset in its telephone
base. If it does not seem to respon d, do the following (in the order listed):
1. Disconnect the power to t he telephone base.
2. Disconnect the han dset battery, and spare battery, if applica ble.
3. Wait a few minutes.
4. Connect power to the teleph one base.
5. Re-install the bat tery(ies).
6. Wait for the handset to re-establish its link with the telephone base. Allow up to one minu te
for this to take place.
