Troubleshooting
If you have difculty operat ing your phone, the suggestions below s hould solve the problem. If you still have dif culty after
trying these suggest ions, call VTech Communications at 1-80 0-595-9511. In Canada, call VTech Telecommunications
Canada Ltd. at 1-800-267-7377.
Problem Suggestion
My phone doesn’t
work at all.
• Make sure th e power cord is plugged in.
• Make sure the telephone line cord is plugged rmly into the telephone base and the telephone
wall jack.
• Disc onnect the AC adapter for a few minutes, and then re connect it.
• Charge the battery in the h andset for 16 hours. For optim um daily per formance, return the
handset to its telephone base w hen not in use.
• Reset the telep hone base. Unplug the unit’s electrical power. Wait for 15 seconds then plug it
back in. Allow up to one minute for the h andset and telephone base to reset.
• You may need to purchase a new battery, please refer to t he battery sec tions in this user’s
manual.
I cannot get a dial
tone.
• Try all the sugg estions above.
• Move the han dset closer to the telephone base. You might have moved out o f range.
• Your line cord migh t be malfunctioning. Try installing a new li ne cord.
• If the previous suggestions don’t work, disconnect the telephone base from the telephone jack
and connect a dif ferent phone. If there is no dial tone on that pho ne either, the problem is in
your wiring or local servi ce. Contact your local telephone c ompany.
